Role Summary
The Senior Business Development & Partnerships Manager position is designed to accelerate the development and scaling of strategic partnerships. This role primarily focuses on identifying, engaging, and progressing potential partners, with a strong initial emphasis on the automotive sector while also supporting expansion into wider strategic alliances. The role demands autonomy, problem-solving ability, and good judgment to handle undefined challenges and drive progress independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover and prioritize promising partnership prospects aligned with the company's strategic targets.
- Maintain and cultivate a pipeline of potential collaborators, especially within the automotive ecosystem.
- Create actionable outreach strategies translating broad goals into specific partnership plans.
- Take initiative in leading conversations, managing relationships, and overseeing partnership progression from early stages through to advanced negotiations.
- Lead meetings and relationship-building activities independently for smaller to medium-sized opportunities; collaborate with senior leaders on more complex deals.
- Ensure consistent forward momentum, align stakeholders, and address challenges proactively.
- Collaborate with senior management for closing agreements.
- Continuously analyze partner interactions and market data to generate clear insights and recommendations for strategic focus.
- Identify trends and opportunities to shape future partnership priorities.
Success Metrics
- Within 3 months: Developed a prioritized partnership pipeline and initiated multiple external discussions with minimal guidance.
- Within 6 months: Advanced numerous partnerships toward final stages, reduced senior leadership dependency, and independently managed smaller deals.
- Contributed measurable business growth through new customer acquisition channels, product integrations, revenue, and strategic partner impact.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of eight years of experience in business development or partnership roles within fast-paced, technologically advanced companies.
- Proven track record of independently sourcing and advancing partnerships in ambiguous situations without standard playbooks.
- Experience driving B2C or B2B2C partnerships creating tangible consumer value through software, connected devices, or platform integrations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders, build trust, and navigate complex organizational structures.
- Strong ability to transform broad strategies into actionable plans and execute effectively.
- Proficiency with data-driven decision-making and structured problem solving.
- Technical aptitude for quickly assimilating product knowledge to support partnership conversations.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and passion for leveraging emerging technologies including AI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related fields or relevant experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the USA and willingness to travel quarterly for various company engagements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in complex multi-stakeholder partnership environments.
- Knowledge of ecosystems involving consumer technology, software platforms, distribution partnerships, connected products, particularly in automotive, mobility, navigation, or mapping.
- Background in scaling partnerships from early stages through execution.
- Exposure to fast-growing, evolving tech companies.
- Personal interest in outdoor recreation or technology-enhanced consumer experiences.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range from $140,000 to $170,000 annually depending on expertise.
