About Enterprise Singapore
Enterprise Singapore is a statutory agency under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. Its mission is to strengthen Singapore’s economy by helping enterprises build innovation and technology capabilities and expand internationally. The agency supports Singapore companies in reaching overseas markets, working with technology partners, and positioning Singapore as a global centre for trade and innovation.
Role Overview
Enterprise Singapore is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to join its Riyadh Overseas Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role supports Singapore-based companies that want to grow across the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. The position focuses on identifying opportunities, enabling market entry through exports, investment, joint ventures, and other alliances, and attracting international traders to establish themselves in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
This role contributes to market intelligence, business development, and strategic partnership building across the region.
Market Intelligence and Business Development
- Drive and support efforts to uncover and advance business opportunities for Singapore companies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, working with government bodies, local partners, and industry clients.
- Track the business landscape and produce current market intelligence, including research and analysis tailored to sectors and regions, to surface project and investment prospects.
- Build and manage a healthy opportunity pipeline across multiple sectors by monitoring growth themes and emerging market directions.
- Plan and coordinate marketing visits, business missions, and related initiatives that help Singapore companies enter and scale in the market.
- Draft market briefs and insights that improve Singapore companies’ understanding of the regional operating environment.
Strategic Partnership Development
- Develop, sustain, and deepen strategic relationships with a broad range of in-market stakeholders to create leads, support business matching, and enable expansion.
- Help shape and implement stakeholder engagement approaches that strengthen collaboration and improve access to market opportunities.
- Represent Singapore as an active hub for trade and innovation through stakeholder outreach and market-facing programmes.
- Assist the Regional Director in Riyadh and Singapore headquarters on strategic workstreams and regional priorities.
- Travel regularly within Saudi Arabia and to Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait for stakeholder meetings, market development, and business activities.
What the Role Calls For
- Background in business development, market analysis, marketing, or a related field, with over 4 years of relevant work experience and an interest in international trade and investment promotion.
- Exposure to overseas work, foreign government entities and/or multinational organisations, and experience managing client and external stakeholder relationships is an advantage.
- Experience in trade and investment promotion services, or familiarity with official bilateral engagements, will be beneficial.
- Experience in sectors such as infrastructure, urban solutions, energy, logistics, digital, and innovation is an added plus.
- Strong analytical and research capability to prepare accurate analysis, concise reports, and clear presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diplomatically and tactfully with stakeholders.
- Resourceful, independent, and outcome-focused with a strong drive to deliver results.
- Well organised, able to juggle multiple priorities, attend meetings, and travel as needed.
- Existing networks in Saudi Arabia and other relevant markets are advantageous for lead generation and project development.
Working Style
The organisation values people who collaborate effectively, communicate with clarity, take ownership, and stay open to learning and improvement. Comfort with change and a positive contribution to a team-oriented environment are important.
