Job description
Role overview
CuraLinc Healthcare is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to lead a centralized analytics function built on Microsoft Fabric. The role is focused on modern data work across a Lakehouse environment, semantic models, Dataflows, and Power BI apps that are actively being developed. You will help define the business requirements and rules that shape this environment, working closely with BI developers and data engineers.
This position serves as the main entry point for ad hoc reporting requests and helps manage the recurring reporting cycle. The work involves converting broad business questions into clear data requirements and then into accurate, repeatable outputs. You will also support the creation of a source-system inventory, agreed metric definitions, and documented business rules that power the semantic models.
CuraLinc Healthcare provides technology-enabled mental health care and supports employers and employees through the mental health journey. The organization values professionalism, respect, strong work ethic, and high character.
Primary responsibilities
- Manage the reporting intake process for internal stakeholders, including prioritization, turnaround expectations, and process design as the team expands.
- Convert business questions and stakeholder needs into precise data requirements before analysis begins.
- Prepare and maintain recurring standard reports using existing BI tools, with attention to accuracy and consistency.
- Independently verify outputs before delivery and resolve data issues without needing escalation.
- Track recurring data quality checks, identify issues, and coordinate fixes with the relevant data owners.
- Keep an up-to-date log of metric definitions and open data questions, including changes, unresolved items, and final decisions so the team has a single source of truth.
- Document report logic and preserve version history to support reproducible reporting.
- Build and maintain an inventory of source transactional systems and their data elements, noting what exists, what is currently ingested, and what could be added later.
- Capture business definitions, metric logic, and source data needs that support data lake and semantic model development in partnership with BI developers and data engineers.
- Work with the Analytics Lead to find ways to reduce manual reporting effort and improve delivery workflows.
- Support the growth of a junior analyst by reviewing work, sharing methods, and helping raise overall team quality.
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a business analyst or similar role focused on turning stakeholder needs into data deliverables.
- Strong Excel capability, including Power Query and work with external models or structured data sources.
- Practical SQL skills for querying, joining, and validating data across systems.
- Ability to handle several simultaneous requests of different complexity levels and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for clarifying vague requests, setting expectations, and explaining findings to non-technical audiences.
- Strong documentation practices, with the ability to capture business definitions, metric logic, and data requirements in reusable formats such as data dictionaries, metric catalogs, or requirement specs.
- A strong quality-first approach, including independent review of your own work before delivery.
- Experience creating structure in ambiguous environments, such as building an intake process, data dictionary, or definition governance model from the ground up.
- Comfort working independently on priorities and reviewing or mentoring the work of other analysts.
Preferred background
- Experience in EAP, behavioral health, or employee benefits.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and lakehouse-based reporting environments.
- IIBA certifications such as CBAP or ECBA.
- Advanced SQL ability for complex query development.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including report and measure development and model relationship work.
- Experience building and scaling a formal reporting intake or request management process.
- Familiarity with semantic modeling concepts such as measures, relationships, reusable metric definitions, and the role documentation plays in semantic-layer and data lake development.
Compensation and benefits
This is a full-time salaried position. The role includes a robust benefits package with 100% company-paid single-tier medical coverage, PTO, 401(k) with match, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability insurance.
Location and employment terms
The job is located in the continental United States and Hawaii.
