Job description
Role overview
ChangeStride works with organisations through technology and transformation initiatives, focusing on the people and process side of change so new ways of working actually take hold. The firm supports both private and public sector clients and helps teams adopt new systems with confidence and care.
This opportunity sits within a growing associate network for client engagements that come up over time. It suits someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to contribute to meaningful change programs.
The role is remote, with an occasional requirement to travel to client locations when needed. It is Melbourne-based in the sense that the engagement is aligned to Melbourne, but remote work is supported.

- Project-based associate work
- Fully remote with occasional client-site travel
- Growing pipeline of work
What the role involves
- Taking ownership of business analysis from discovery through to delivery on technology and transformation assignments
- Leading discovery activities such as workshops, interviews, and stakeholder conversations to identify the core issue
- Capturing, structuring, ranking, and confirming business and functional requirements that delivery teams can confidently use
- Mapping processes, documenting current and future states, and highlighting gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Working closely with technical teams and vendors to shape solutions and translate business needs into delivery-ready outcomes
- Communicating effectively with senior and operational stakeholders, balancing priorities, bringing people along, and working with limited supervision

- Proven ability to lead discovery and run stakeholder workshops and interviews

- Experience with process analysis, future-state design, and identifying delivery risks and improvement areas
- Comfort working with technical teams and external vendors to develop workable solutions
- Clear communication skills with both senior leaders and frontline stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight
- Good judgement, diligence, and confidence in escalating issues early
Nice-to-have experience
- Background in the public sector, local government, or consulting
- Exposure to technology implementations or ERP deployments
- Familiarity with user stories, use cases, BPMN, or formal business analysis documentation methods
- Experience supporting testing, UAT, or solution rollout activities
- IIBA certification such as CBAP or CCBA, or a relevant tertiary qualification, is valued
Work style and inclusion
The work is project-based, and applicants from any location are welcome. ChangeStride values a diverse and inclusive associate network and is open to reasonable adjustments to help people work in the way that suits them best.
