Job description
Role overview
Procter & Gamble’s communications function serves as the voice of its brands with a wide network of external partners, including media, key opinion leaders, agency partners, legislators, regulators, advertising clearance bodies, environmental scientists, consumer groups, and non-governmental organizations. The role is focused on protecting and strengthening the reputation of major consumer brands while ensuring communication remains open, credible, and transparent.
The Senior Brand Communications Manager will shape the brand communications approach and help put it into action. A key part of the role is building strong, reliable relationships with partners that support the reputation of the business and its brands.
What you will do
- Develop integrated brand communications and public relations plans that build awareness, advocacy, and earned media value, and own their rollout along with related events.
- Develop and preserve strong relationships with stakeholders across both internal teams and external partners.
- Plan and manage influencer programs and associated events.
- Assess risks and lead communications around brand issues and crisis situations.
- Shape social engagement plans, oversee community management, and create content that helps influence opinion and encourage action for the brands.
- Manage brand PR agencies and provide strategic guidance to cross-functional teams.
What you need
The ideal candidate brings solid communications experience, especially in brand PR, along with the ability to manage external partner relationships effectively. The role calls for someone who can think strategically, stay accountable, and translate the needs of both influencers and internal business partners into practical communication plans and tools.
Because the work is heavily influenced by current events and multiple simultaneous projects, the role also requires adaptability and flexibility.
Eligibility
- Open to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens.
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in communications or brand PR is required.
- Experience in issues management and crisis communications is considered an advantage.
- Candidates should be comfortable identifying external opportunities and working with a broad mix of relevant stakeholders, including media contacts, business leaders, NGOs, key opinion leaders, and government officials.
