About the Role
The Senior Associate / Associate plays an essential role within the Research Grants & Management (RGM) team, providing vital support for various functions to ensure smooth grant management and administration. This includes establishing key operating systems, developing guidelines, liaising with grantors and stakeholders, and managing documentation related to grants and projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the establishment of critical processes and operating systems to assist the Director of Research functions.
- Assist in formulating and applying guidelines related to the management and administration of grants.
- Review Terms and Conditions of competitive grant calls to verify alignment and compliance.
- Coordinate with grant providers to ensure effective grant administration.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather input for improving grant management and administrative operations.
- Compile key statistics for management planning purposes.
- Distribute grant calls to A*STAR Research Entities (ARES) and oversee proposal submissions for expert panel and council reviews.
- Follow up with ARES and Corporate Groups regarding Letters of Award (LOAs), ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Monitor Fund Requisition and Progress Reports submissions from ARES and Corporate Groups.
- Handle processing of project variation requests in coordination with relevant ARES.
- Maintain thorough documentation of critical approvals, project records, and reports.
- Provide support in organizing Research Office events including visits by professors and conference speakers.
Requirements
- At least a diploma qualification with solid understanding of STEM fields.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with internal staff and external research leaders.
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding grant terms and conditions.
- Proficient problem-solving, analytical thinking, and systems approach capabilities.
- Competency in software tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-reliant and resourceful in managing responsibilities.
- Prior relevant work experience will be considered advantageous.
