Our values:  🌿 We make a positive impact. ✨ We aim for the stars. 💚 We care for each other.  <h1>Impact of a Senior Analytics Engineer</h1> As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will join our Data Science and Engineering team at Upsun to help our company make smarter choices. You will do this by helping us better understand our customers and internal operations. You will work with large amounts of platform and business data to create clear insights that improve our product and decisions. In this role, you will use SQL, Python, DBT, Hex, Metabase, and GCP data tools. You will work on important projects like building new data models with Salesforce and financial data, or working with AI tools and cloud cost modeling (FinOps). What to expect <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Data Modeling and Architecture: You will design and build models that turn raw data into useful metrics and data products, using DBT and medallion architecture.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Metric Design & Ownership: You will define what success looks like for our products, setting up and tracking key business metrics.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work with technical and non-technical teams to collect requirements, share methods, and teach best practices for using data.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Technical Leadership: You will lead data modeling projects, choosing the right tools and planning how to complete the work.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Scalable Solutions: You will work efficiently with data of all sizes, including petabyte-scale datasets, to help everyone make data-based decisions.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strategic Advisory: You will guide partner teams by creating and explaining analytical metrics, helping them understand how data impacts different parts of the product and business.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Operational Efficiency: You will improve our team's processes and code by creating well-documented solutions that can be used again in the future.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Evolving Modern Stack: You will use modern tools (GCP BigQuery, AWS S3, Fivetran, Hightouch, and AI tools like Claude Code) and help us improve our data architecture as it grows.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Global Remote Culture: You will work with a worldwide, remote team that values learning, open source software, and new ideas.</li> </ul> <h1>What you bring</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Core Skills: Strong experience with SQL and DBT in real production settings, along with good habits in Python, Git, and CI/CD.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Data Architecture: Solid experience building data models for large datasets (up to petabytes) in cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Curiosity and Problem Solving: A passion for testing new tools, learning new technologies, and finding simple ways to solve complex problems.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Execution & Tradeoffs: The ability to choose the best solution among different technical options, communicate clearly, and work well asynchronously.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Clear Communication: Experience creating solutions and explaining them clearly to different types of audiences.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Remote Collaboration: Comfort working in a remote team, managing your time well, and working across multiple teams. </li> </ul> <h1>Bonus</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience working with FinOps principles or FOCUS data models.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience or interest in building AI data agents and modern AI-assisted data workflows.</li> </ul> <h1>Where we hire</h1> At Upsun, remote work isn't just a trend - it's our foundation.
