Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for a full-time onsite role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and accounting functions specifically related to construction projects. This role involves managing project accounting, budgeting, VAT compliance, and ensuring robust financial controls to support accurate and compliant financial operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Compile and prepare financial statements, management information system (MIS) reports, and reports for management review.
• Manage accounting for projects including handling the general ledger, cost centres, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
• Ensure VAT regulations are met and conduct thorough budgeting alongside analysis of cash flow and project costs.
• Oversee retention amounts, bank guarantees, performance bonds, and carry out reconciliations accurately.
• Administer accounts payable and receivable processes while supporting external audits and compliance with IFRS standards.
• Leverage ERP platforms and accounting software such as QuickBooks to streamline accounting and financial management operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional certifications like ACCA or CMA are preferred.
• Have prior work experience in the construction sector.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software, including QuickBooks.
