Job description
Role Overview
This Senior Accountant position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is suited to an experienced finance professional who can manage core accounting operations, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support leadership with reliable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and interpret financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal company procedures.
- Take ownership of accounting records, including the general ledger and journal entries.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities, and deliver analysis that helps guide management decisions.
- Perform recurring account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes while ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.
- Produce financial reports for management, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure tax returns are filed on time and that all relevant tax obligations are met.
- Track cash flow and suggest ways to improve working capital efficiency.
- Guide, coach, and support junior accountants in their growth and day-to-day performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting or a comparable role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle.
- Good analytical ability and a structured approach to solving problems.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
