Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will lead the general ledger accounting team and oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings. This role involves managing various accounting functions including general ledger postings, fixed assets, receivables, payables, and bank accounting, as well as payment processing and credit management.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings
• Lead and supervise the general ledger accounting team
• Assign accounts and record business transactions across general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable/payable, and bank accounting
• Process payments such as manual bank transfers, direct debit, and payment runs
• Manage credit evaluations, dunning processes, and maintain master data
• Assess accounting treatments related to tax matters
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Handle impairment assessments of shares
• Engage in cross-departmental projects and cooperation
• Serve as liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors
• Act as contact for applying German local GAAP (HGB) and IFRS regulations

Candidate Profile

• Completed qualification as a certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or alternatively a bachelor's degree in finance
• Minimum of three years' professional experience in finance and accounting
• Prior leadership experience is beneficial
• Familiarity with SAP R/3 and SAP S4/Hana advantageous
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
• Excellent command of both German and English languages
• Ability to work independently with an organized and structured approach
• High dedication, flexibility, service orientation, reliability, and teamwork skills
• Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with numerical data
• Competence in cross-departmental communication and collaboration
