Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the self checkout area clean, safe, and well-organized, ensuring the space is free from clutter, foreign objects, and spills.
• Promote Walmart's company programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns when relevant.
• Assist customers in using self checkout efficiently by monitoring usage, offering help promptly, and handling needed verifications. Explain any issues in a clear and friendly manner and escalate cash or technical problems to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond promptly to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms according to company procedure and accurately maintain the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Manage Scan & Go equipment by ensuring scanners are always returned to their proper storage locations after use.
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands, helping maintain consistent and high-quality service.

Challenges in This Position

• Handle high volumes of work in a brisk environment efficiently, including managing overnight shifts while maintaining energy and focus.
• Complete restocking and store upkeep duties accurately and on schedule in a fast-paced setting.
• Meet physical demands such as standing for long durations, bending, lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing tasks with precision.

Compensation

The position offers a starting hourly wage of $17.75.
