Role overview
An international contractor delivering oil and gas construction projects in Qatar is seeking a Security Manager to oversee the full security function for the project. This role is accountable for protecting people, property, facilities, and operations while making sure all security activities align with client expectations, company standards, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Create, roll out, and continuously improve project security plans, operating procedures, and risk reduction measures.
- Carry out security threat and risk reviews for worksites, offices, living accommodation, and logistics activities.
- Oversee access management, guarding arrangements, CCTV coverage, and other physical protection controls.
- Coordinate with client security representatives, public authorities, police, and emergency response agencies.
Candidate profile
The role calls for a professional with a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, along with substantial experience in security leadership. The ideal applicant will have at least 10 years in security management, including 5 or more years supporting large EPC, oil and gas, energy, or industrial projects in the Middle East. Direct exposure to major international EPC environments is important.
Strong capability in security risk management, incident handling and investigation, emergency preparedness, and crisis response is expected. Experience managing outsourced security contractors and collaborating with diverse multinational teams will be essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills are also required.
