Security Bodyguard cum Driver

Role Overview

This position combines close protection and professional driving. The selected person will safeguard a VIP client while also handling the assigned vehicle with careful, defensive driving and strict confidentiality. Deployments may be for corporate, residential, or diplomatic clients anywhere in India, depending on the assignment.

The role sits within Executive Protection / Manned Guarding and reports to the Assignment Manager, the client’s Security Coordinator, or the G4S Executive Protection team lead.

Core Duties

• Provide close protection to the assigned principal during travel, public movements, and at residence or workplace.
• Stay alert to identify and discourage possible threats or suspicious activity.
• Escort the client safely between locations and coordinate with site security when required.
• Plan routes in advance, assess risks, and prepare backup action plans.
• Drive the assigned vehicle safely in line with traffic laws and VIP movement protocols.
• Remain composed in heavy traffic, crowd situations, and emergency conditions.
• Keep the vehicle clean, refuelled, and mechanically ready for use.
• Carry out before-journey checks and report any technical issues promptly.
• Respond quickly to attacks, medical issues, or road emergencies.
• Move the client to safety and notify law enforcement or the control room as per SOP.
• Provide basic first aid or support emergency medical evacuation when needed.
• Protect the client’s privacy, schedule, location, and personal information at all times.
• Maintain professional behaviour, respectful communication, and appropriate etiquette.
• Do not disclose or discuss client-related information in any form.
• Guard the vehicle and any client assets when parked or stationary.
• Watch the surroundings during stops and drop-offs and report suspicious behaviour near the vehicle or property.

Eligibility and Experience

Applicants should have at least a 10th pass qualification, with 12th pass preferred. A valid LMV driving licence is required along with 3 to 5 years of accident-free driving experience. Overall experience of 3 to 7 years in personal security or VIP driving roles is expected.

Candidates with prior work as a bodyguard, ex-serviceman, or personal security officer are preferred. Familiarity with security procedures, evasive driving, and first aid will be an advantage. The preferred age range is 28 to 50 years, and the candidate should be physically fit, alert, and well built with a minimum height of 5'8" (172 cm).

Working Conditions

The job involves long and flexible working hours based on the VIP’s schedule. Inter-city and outstation travel may be needed. Depending on the client’s standard operating procedure, the person may have to work in uniform or civil clothing, and formal attire may be required. The assignment includes on-call duty on weekends and public holidays.

Pay and Benefits

Compensation is aligned with the Highly Skilled category and may include extra allowances depending on risk level and working hours. Additional payment may be provided for night duty, travel, or outstation postings. Statutory benefits such as PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity, leave, and insurance coverage are included. Accommodation and meals may also be arranged based on the client site or remote duty location.
