Job description

Job Overview

A Financial Services client is looking for a Scrum Master to join their expanding team, focusing on a strategic digital asset platform project. This role involves managing Agile project delivery teams, ensuring effective planning, tracking, communication, and coordination. The Scrum Master will collaborate closely with both Business and Technology teams, offering coaching on Agile methodologies and helping to remove obstacles. This position requires solid experience in Agile and project management techniques. It is a W-2 role without third-party firms or C2C arrangements.

Core Duties

  • Lead and facilitate Agile practices to empower teams and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan and execute roadmaps, deliver status updates, and manage timelines under strict deadlines.
  • Build and nurture effective two-way communication within and across business and technology groups.
  • Apply advanced Agile concepts and contribute innovative ideas for enhancement.
  • Facilitate discussions effectively and propose alternative solutions as needed.
  • Maintain transparency and visibility between Business and Technology stakeholders.
  • Establish trust among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with the PMO team to support organizational change.
  • Conduct formal meetings following Agile cadence requirements.
  • Balance responsibilities between Scrum Master and project management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Basic understanding of technology infrastructure and architecture.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, and Waterfall.
  • Experience with software development cycles involving rapid iterative delivery.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the SDLC including planning, requirements, development, QA, change and release management.
  • Awareness of continuous integration, test-driven development, and automation tools.
  • Experience using Agile Lifecycle Management tools like Azure DevOps (ADO).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 5 years experience in project, process, or relationship management.
  • Relevant certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or Business Management.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder influence capabilities.
  • A background of executing complex projects successfully.
  • Proficiency in complete project management lifecycle delivery.

Work Environment & Location

  • This role requires on-site presence in Chicago, Illinois at least 3 days per week with hybrid working options.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated hourly pay between $60 and $70, subject to experience and local wage laws.
