Scrum Master

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join Synechron’s team in Abu Dhabi, focused on the banking domain. This full-time position requires over 10 years of experience facilitating Agile teams and driving successful project deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile ceremonies as a servant leader for newly formed service teams.
• Empower teams to reach their potential without coercive management or micromanagement.
• Identify and remove impediments, resolve conflicts and facilitate smooth workflow.
• Coach teams on applying the client’s Agile framework to enhance Agile maturity (focus on being Agile rather than just doing Agile).
• Create a productive environment where team members take collective ownership and freely share opinions and concerns.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Service Owners to manage backlog and new requests effectively.
• Ensure deliverables conform to acceptance criteria and meet quality standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the team and manage business expectations jointly with the Product Owner.
• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters to handle inter-team dependencies and technical collaboration.
• Monitor the value delivered by the team and facilitate retrospectives to improve outcomes for business users and customers.
• Oversee timely feature delivery by ensuring backlog prioritization and execution.
• Track program schedules and perform regular reporting and escalation as needed.
• Maintain project risk, issue, and change registers to protect program delivery integrity.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Over 10 years of Scrum Master experience, preferably within large organizations.
• Thorough understanding of project management methodologies including traditional and Agile, and familiarity with project management tools.
• Deep expertise in Scrum, with practical knowledge of at least one scaling framework; certifications like CSM, PSM, SSM, PMI-ACP are beneficial.
• Familiarity with other Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrumban, Lean, or XP.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Understanding of software development processes.
• Knowledge of banking products, digital channels including Mobile and Internet Banking.
• Technical acumen enabling collaboration across multiple teams within the banking sector.
• Experience handling fast-paced and challenging work environments.
• Effective stakeholder management, clear communication, and timely reporting capabilities.
• Awareness of application security, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Proven experience coaching and coordinating Agile delivery squads to optimize solution delivery.
• Ability to assist product owners with backlog refinement for accurate sprint planning.
• Capability to anticipate future challenges and risks beyond immediate team scope.
• Experience juggling multiple projects concurrently, with strong problem-solving to ensure timely delivery.
• Competence using various project management software tools.
• Experience managing vendor and partner relationships.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and microservices architecture projects.
