Role Overview
The Scientific Communications Specialist will develop high-quality scientific content across various digital medical communication initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with Project Managers, Designers, Animators, and fellow specialists to convert complex clinical research, scientific publications, and evidence into captivating educational materials for healthcare professionals. This position emphasizes innovative and interactive learning experiences beyond traditional scientific writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create scientifically accurate, engaging scripts for digital medical education projects.
- Interpret and simplify complex clinical research for clear, compelling communication aimed at healthcare professionals.
- Critically assess scientific literature, clinical evidence, publications, and treatment guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including Designers, Animators, Project Managers, and other Scientific Communications Specialists during project development.
- Maintain scientific accuracy, consistency, and high quality in all deliverables.
- Contribute to storyboards, interactive content, and scientific storytelling initiatives.
- Participate in scientific discussions with pharmaceutical and biotech clients when necessary.
- Enhance scientific communication workflows, standards, and best practices.
- Explore ways to incorporate AI and emerging technologies to advance scientific communication, ensuring rigorous scientific standards.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will possess a strong scientific foundation and experience in conveying complex medical information. Professionals currently working in areas such as Scientific Communications, Medical Communications, Medical Affairs, Medical Education, Medical Information, Medical Writing, Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Clinical Education, or Healthcare Communications are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of MSc, PharmD, PhD, MD, or an equivalent degree in Life Sciences.
- Minimum four years of experience in Scientific Communications, Medical Communications, Medical Affairs, Medical Education, Medical Information, Medical Writing or similar roles.
- Thorough understanding of clinical research, scientific publications, and pharmaceutical communication.
- Outstanding skills in scientific writing, editing, and reviewing.
- Aptitude for clearly, accurately, and engagingly communicating complex scientific topics.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote and international setting.
Additional Desirable Attributes
- Experience collaborating with global pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.
- Exposure to supporting Medical Affairs, Medical Education, Commercial, or Clinical teams.
- Experience in digital education, interactive learning design, or scientific storytelling.
- Interest or experience in animation, visual communication, or the use of AI-powered content creation tools.
