Role overview
The School Performance Review Analyst carries out advanced research and analytical work to assess how effectively and efficiently school districts manage educational, financial, and operational activities. The role involves reviewing data, speaking with district staff, observing school operations, and producing detailed reports with practical recommendations. The work supports compliance with state and federal requirements, better use of resources, and informed district decisions.
The analyst may also help plan, assign, or oversee the work of other team members. Travel is part of the job and will differ depending on the project.
This role reports to the School Performance Review Manager and is performed under general supervision with room for initiative and independent judgment.
Compensation note

Essential responsibilities
- Assess school district programs and operations to identify inefficiencies, rule compliance issues, and alignment with accepted best practices.
- Examine both numerical and narrative data to spot trends and performance shortfalls.
- Speak with school district staff to collect operational information.
- Draft objective, concise reports with findings and recommendations that help districts improve operations or implement changes that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Present findings to legislative and public audiences.
- Request information from multiple stakeholders, independently interpret the data, develop recommendations for district action, and present results in a format suited to different audiences.
- Use knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations affecting public education and school districts.
- Support agency initiatives and carry out other related duties as assigned.
