Role Overview
This full-time position based on-site in the Greater Albury-Wodonga Area requires a Scaffolder to install, adjust, and remove edge protection and scaffolding structures for residential and commercial construction sites. Duties encompass handling equipment loading and unloading, assembling guard rails and walkways, maintaining and inspecting scaffolding parts, and verifying compliance with safety regulations. The role involves collaboration with site supervisors and trades to devise safe access methods, completing required documentation, and managing urgent site demands. Strict adherence to safe work practices is essential, including working at heights and sometimes confined spaces.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- A strong background in installing scaffoldings and edge protection, particularly guard rails and walkway systems.
- Proven experience in working safely at height, with a thorough understanding of fall protection procedures and safety standards.
- Experience operating on active construction sites, complying with safety protocols and risk mitigations.
- Possession of a valid White Card (construction safety card) and other relevant certifications such as Scaffolding ticket and Working Safely from Heights certificate.
- Good physical condition with the ability to handle manual labor and work outdoors under diverse weather conditions.
- Dependable time management skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety instructions meticulously.
- Current driver’s license with reliable transportation to travel to job sites throughout Greater Albury-Wodonga and neighboring areas.
- Prior experience in construction, roofing, or edge protection is highly desirable; open attitude towards further training is required.
