About the role
This role is for an experienced SAP Profitability and Performance Management Cloud consultant who can guide the design and delivery of advanced financial modeling solutions. The position involves leading the implementation of sophisticated profitability and cost allocation models while serving as the subject matter expert for business stakeholders.
The right candidate should bring strong experience in PaPM Cloud and SAP EPM solutions, along with a solid grasp of financial performance management. The role requires someone who can connect finance needs with efficient technical delivery.
Functional leadership and solution design
You will work closely with Finance and Controlling teams to run workshops, gather requirements, and shape solutions for complex cost allocations, transfer pricing, and profitability analysis. A key part of the job is converting business finance processes into efficient PaPM Standard or Universal Models.
You will also design complete financial modeling scenarios and prepare detailed functional specifications, process flows, and user training materials.
PaPM configuration and modeling
The position includes configuring advanced PaPM functions such as allocations, joins, derivations, and calculations. You will handle currency translation and unit conversion scenarios to support reporting across multiple entities.
You will design and maintain process templates and related modeling structures. In addition, SAC Planning integration is part of the broader scope, with PaPM outputs being used for planning and forecasting activities.
Integration and delivery
You will lead integration efforts between PaPM Cloud and SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal, SAP SAC, and non-SAP systems. This includes defining data mapping approaches and transformation rules.
The role also covers oversight of system integration testing and user acceptance testing, as well as ownership of timelines, deliverables, and recommendations for PaPM best practices and performance optimization.
Required experience and background
Applicants must have completed at least one full SAP PaPM Cloud implementation cycle. Strong functional knowledge of standard models, allocation engines, and multi-level cost distribution is essential.
Hands-on exposure to SAP HANA SQL and performance tuning for large calculation volumes is required. Experience connecting PaPM with SAP S/4HANA and external data sources is also important.
A sound understanding of financial steering concepts such as profit and loss, margin analysis, and profitability reporting is expected. Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud Planning models, data actions, and story design is considered a secondary advantage.
The role also calls for experience leading global project teams in an Agile or sprint-based environment.
