Job description

About Swiggy

Swiggy is a major on-demand delivery company in India, built around a technology-led logistics model and a practical, solution-oriented approach to customer needs. The company operates in more than 500 cities, works with hundreds of thousands of restaurants, and is supported by a workforce of over 5,000 employees along with a delivery network of more than 200,000 independent delivery executives. Using advanced machine learning systems and large-scale daily data processing, Swiggy aims to deliver fast, dependable service to millions of customers. Since its launch in 2014 as a hyperlocal food delivery business, it has grown into a wider convenience platform that also aims to offer a strong and rewarding environment for employees.

Ways of Working

This role follows a strict on-site work model. Employees are expected to work from their assigned posting location or office base.

Role Overview

The Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring and building engagement with single-outlet independent restaurants across an assigned city. As the main contact for these restaurant partners, the role involves understanding their business, identifying their pain points, and creating a partnership that helps improve orders, visibility, and customer engagement. The position is highly field-based and consultative, requiring flexibility, initiative, and a genuine focus on partner growth. It is also a strong foundation for developing consultative selling expertise and deeper knowledge of restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a defined territory and build productive relationships with the restaurant partners assigned to that area.
  • Spend significant time in the field by meeting restaurant partners in person, demonstrating products, explaining ROI, and showing how Swiggy can create value for both sides.
  • Use consultative selling techniques to understand restaurant needs by asking about their existing channels, delivery setup, marketing spend, and business objectives, then position Swiggy’s offerings as solutions.
  • Handle the full monthly partner lifecycle, including pitching, negotiation, activation, and continuous support.
  • Monitor adoption and performance data, identify the reasons behind weak growth, resolve issues, and make corrective actions as needed.
  • Be accountable for revenue targets in your territory and maintain your own pipeline and conversion tracking.
  • Work comfortably with Excel, Google Sheets, and WSP, since day-to-day city and central tracking data will need to be managed and analyzed.
  • Keep up with restaurant trends, competition, and local market changes, and share field insights that can help shape product direction.
  • Complete roughly 80 to 90 face-to-face meetings with restaurant partners every month.

Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, with preference for candidates from FMCG, food and beverage, or hotel-related backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to meet or surpass targets while managing an independent sales pipeline.
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for the growth of an assigned restaurant portfolio in a business that operates around the clock.
  • Strong data-handling ability, especially in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboard creation without assistance.
  • Postgraduate qualification, preferably with a specialization in marketing or sales.

Equal Opportunity

All qualified applicants will be considered fairly, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability status, or other legally protected characteristics.
