The objective is to make sure manpower and capacity are used efficiently so the telecalling model continues to be an effective sales channel within the BSLI–HDFC Bank banca partnership.
Role context and key challenges
The position operates in a fast-moving environment where the main pressure points are vendor attrition, maintaining the required headcount, and meeting business targets across HDFC processes. The job also requires close monitoring of every lead conversion, prompt distribution of leads, and frequent coordination between the internal sales team and the telecalling vendor to implement changes quickly when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Build, organize, and optimize the telesales setup so that manpower and capacity are used as effectively as possible.
- Partner closely with HDFC bankers to provide channel support and ensure smooth operational management.
- Track vendor performance and productivity, and drive improvement through regular monitoring.
- Review and validate vendor invoices and billing.
- Monitor leads and productivity at the telecalling vendor, provide timely feedback, and work on improving output.
- Coordinate with HDFC product teams and the BSLI team to design motivation initiatives such as contests and link rewards with performance.
- Deliver revenue outcomes for the telesales setup.
- Recruit, retain, and motivate the vendor team while ensuring the required team strength is maintained at all times.
- Handle internal team conflicts and support a positive, engaged work environment.
- Encourage career progression and capability building for direct reports.
- Keep the vendor telesales team operating at high productivity and efficiency levels.
- Forecast sales volume, revenue, and premium from the telesales unit based on productivity.
- Maintain lead and meeting tracking, and ensure reporting is completed through MIS on time.
- Share dashboards at regular intervals showing seat utilization and productivity levels.
- Ensure compliance with all internal, regulatory, and control requirements related to the telesales unit.
- Use only the approved sales pitch and process while driving penetration.
- Coordinate training support for telecallers at the vendor end whenever needed.
Requirements
- Experience in managing telesales or telecalling vendor operations.
- Strong ability to track performance, productivity, and revenue metrics.
- Capability to manage hiring, retention, and team motivation.
- Comfort with MIS reporting, dashboards, and sales forecasting.
- Working knowledge of sales process controls, compliance, and approved pitching standards.
- Good coordination skills for working across bankers, product teams, internal sales, and external vendors.
- Ability to handle high-pressure targets and rapid operational changes.
