Job description

Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site Sales Manager position based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The role focuses on driving growth in selected markets, managing customer relationships, supporting sales execution, and coordinating with internal teams to improve commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and drive annual growth plans for priority markets with strong potential.
  • Provide leadership to other members of the sales team.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of existing customers when required.
  • Handle pricing lists, customer engagement efforts, organic growth targets, and execution planning.
  • Build monthly forecasts for orders and sales using CRM and related tools.
  • Track quotations and move assigned accounts through the sales pipeline.
  • Work on inbound leads generated through different marketing channels.
  • Share weekly organizational updates during sales calls.
  • Prepare monthly business unit reports for the Director of Sales and Marketing, covering leads, new business growth, organic growth from existing business, and commercial risks.
  • Monitor sales volume, product mix, and pricing by staying current on demand trends, market conditions, economic indicators, and competitor activity.
  • Remove barriers that are preventing quotes from being converted into wins.
  • Coordinate with different departments to support new business development.
  • Partner with the customer care team on account growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with operations and customers on inventory planning through stocking programs to support working capital objectives.
  • Negotiate favorable credit terms with customers to help achieve working capital goals.
  • Keep leadership informed about competitive intelligence, pricing issues, and other relevant market information.
  • Record day-to-day activity in CRM (D365) consistently.
  • Support website updates and marketing collateral through the corporate marketing team.
  • Represent the company with divisional teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Travel as needed, approximately one week every 5 to 6 weeks, or 15% to 20% of the time.
  • Attend trade shows to represent the organization and conduct market research.

Tools and technical knowledge

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to use CRM systems effectively.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment and meet team expectations.
  • Willingness to follow company policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic ability.
  • Sales or sales management background in manufacturing, ideally in Industrial and/or Pressure Vessels markets.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years of broad sales and marketing experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.

Compensation

The anticipated total compensation for this role is between $101,040 and $126,300, combining base salary and target variable pay. Final pay will depend on location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. Most offers are expected to be placed within the range rather than at the top end to allow room for future growth.

Additional information

This role requires regular coordination across departments, customer-facing interaction, and periodic travel for market development and trade show participation.
