Sales Estimator

About the Role

Burbank is seeking a motivated Sales Estimator to join its team in Adelaide. This opportunity suits someone with a background in drafting, design, or construction who wants to move into the retail estimating side of home building. In this position, you will partner with Sales and Operations to create precise retail cost estimates, tender documentation, and variation pricing while building your understanding of pricing structures, margins, and supplier coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft tender paperwork and variation documents with clear and accurate detail.
• Build retail cost estimates using approved margin and markup settings.
• Prepare fixed site cost information and respond promptly to sales-related queries.
• Work with internal teams such as drafters, engineers, builders, and suppliers.
• Review and understand architectural and engineering drawings.
• Break down project documentation to estimate labour and materials requirements.
• Evaluate design updates and assess how they affect costs.
• Support efficiency improvements and better internal processes.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in the building industry; experience in drafting, design, or construction is highly desirable.
• Solid knowledge of construction terminology and how building work is carried out.
• Strong analytical thinking with a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Excellent precision with numbers and a strong eye for detail.
• Ability to interpret technical plans and drawings.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Comfortable working alone and collaboratively within a team.
• Intermediate computer capability, including Excel and estimating tools or software.
