Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead and manage our sales operations and overall business activities within the German automotive sector. This role involves steering strategic planning, expanding sales channels, and strengthening relationships with key accounts, particularly focusing on the Volkswagen Group and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of sales operations and business activities in Germany to ensure efficient execution and sustained growth.
- Design and implement forward-thinking sales strategies aligned with German automotive industry trends, competitors, and company objectives.
- Lead the growth and optimization of sales channels by developing partnerships with distributors, agents, and system integrators to boost market reach.
- Build and nurture long-term strategic customer relationships, especially with Volkswagen Group entities including Audi, Porsche, Škoda, and Seat.
Candidate Requirements
- Legal eligibility to work in Germany, such as holding a German or EU passport or permanent residence permit.
- Fluency in native German and proficient business-level English; knowledge of French is advantageous.
- A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering.
- Over 10 years of OEM sales experience with demonstrated success and deep knowledge of sales strategies and customer requirements.
- Familiarity with OEM procurement procedures and supplier access requirements, particularly related to Volkswagen Group, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
- Established connections with German automotive industry bodies (e.g., VDA), government entities, and significant industry stakeholders, coupled with a strong customer network.
- Strong aptitude for strategic planning and decision-making to guide significant sales initiatives in Germany.
- Proven project management expertise to ensure project delivery and accountability for financial outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with Volkswagen Group's procurement and R&D divisions.
- Knowledge of German automotive industry standards such as VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949.
- An existing network within Volkswagen's supply chain ecosystem.
