Job description
Role overview
The Cisco APJC Scale Growth Office drives expansion, innovation, and scale across the mid-market and SMB segments in Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China. The team focuses on localized market approaches, partner activation, and faster adoption of cloud, networking, and SaaS solutions. In India, this role helps shape go-to-market direction, strengthen the partner ecosystem, and unlock growth opportunities in a rapidly changing market.
Impact of the role
As the Scale Portfolio Business Development Manager for India, you will build and execute portfolio strategies designed to accelerate growth in the mid-market and SMB space. You will partner with sales, marketing, distribution, and architecture teams to bring competitive, locally relevant product and solution offerings to market, while improving profitability and supporting partner success.
Key responsibilities
- Build, refine, and oversee a Cisco product and solutions portfolio tailored for India and aligned with the Scale GTM strategy.
- Design targeted offers and bundled solutions that help partners and service-led motions grow faster in the India market.
- Analyze pricing, discounting, and margins to strengthen competitive positioning while protecting profitability.
- Work closely with Architecture Sales, the Partner Organization, Distribution, and Marketing teams to deliver coordinated execution.
- Run recurring business reviews, monitor performance indicators, and track channel portfolio results to support ongoing growth and go-to-market delivery.
Minimum qualifications
The role calls for extensive experience in the IT industry, along with a strong background in sales, product management, or engineering and a proven history of driving technology growth. Candidates should understand Cisco product architectures and service offerings in the mid-market and SMB segments, and have practical experience creating and executing market-specific product and pricing strategies. Success in a matrixed environment and the ability to collaborate across functions are essential. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is required.
Preferred qualifications
Additional value will be given to candidates who have worked with Service Providers and Managed Service Providers, especially in service development or growth acceleration roles. The ideal profile is strategic, creative, commercially aware, and confident in identifying new opportunities and leading change. Strong analytical ability, especially around competition and pricing, is important, as are excellent communication and presentation skills for influencing stakeholders at different levels. A consistent track record of driving transformation and business outcomes as a change agent is also preferred.
