Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Safety Officer position is based in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The role is responsible for monitoring daily workplace safety, carrying out regular inspections, and making sure the site follows the relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements. The position also includes spotting hazards, evaluating risks, and putting preventive as well as corrective actions in place.
Key Duties
The Safety Officer will run safety awareness sessions, maintain safety documentation and incident logs, and help investigate accidents and near-miss events. The role requires close coordination with operations, HR, and security teams to strengthen the safety culture, support readiness for emergencies, and improve safety outcomes over time.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of health and safety principles, occupational health practices, and the applicable laws, standards, and industry practices.
- Practical experience in incident investigation and reporting, including identifying root causes and suggesting corrective measures.
- Experience working with security teams to support site safety, access management, and response to incidents.
- Ability to prepare and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives for different employee groups.
- A relevant diploma, degree, or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or a state-approved safety qualification.
- Strong skills in observation, record-keeping, and report preparation, with a careful eye for accuracy and detail.
- Comfort working on-site in industrial or manufacturing settings and communicating effectively with employees across all levels.
- Working knowledge of basic computer applications such as MS Office for reports, records, and training content.
- Prior experience in a Safety Officer or EHS role, especially in manufacturing or industrial environments, will be considered an advantage.
