Job description

Overview

CFT Care Ltd is a caring and reliable provider of health and social care services. The organisation supports people in their own homes, including individuals living with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and those who need help with personal care. The team is focused on delivering safe, person-centred, high-quality support and is looking for a committed Rota Scheduler to help coordinate its growing service.

This is a busy, varied position where you will help keep the supported living service running smoothly by building effective schedules, coordinating support worker rotas, handling new referrals, and making sure service users receive consistent and well-organised care.

The role reports to the Registered Manager and is based in Clacton, Essex, UK. It is a full-time position with a salary of £28,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and update support worker rotas using the organisation’s rostering system.
  • Match staff to support visits according to service user needs, staff competencies, compatibility, and training.
  • Track capacity levels and help identify opportunities for service growth.
  • Keep staff and service user records accurate and compliant, including information on absences, annual leave, and training.
  • Handle alterations to planned visits, such as cancellations, longer visits, and short-term changes.
  • Spot staffing or recruitment requirements based on service demand.
  • Take part in the on-call rota to offer out-of-hours support.
  • Protect confidentiality and follow all company procedures and policies.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be well organised, proactive, and focused on providing a high standard of service. This role suits someone who can stay calm under pressure, manage several priorities at once, and communicate clearly with others.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Good IT ability and confidence in picking up new systems quickly.
  • Capable of juggling tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team member who can also work independently with confidence.
  • Aligned with the values and aims of CFT Care Ltd.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous work in the care sector.
  • Experience arranging schedules or coordinating support services.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and Gmail.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to support on-call responsibilities and provide emergency care when needed.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required.
  • Availability for alternate weekends is expected.

Benefits

  • Flexible full-time, permanent working arrangements designed to support work-life balance.
  • Access to the Optimo Learning Academy for ongoing training, development, and progression.
  • Opportunities to grow and progress within an expanding organisation.
  • A friendly and supportive team environment.
  • Employee Assistance Programme through Health Assured for confidential professional wellbeing support.
  • Reward Gateway access, including discounts, rewards, and milestone celebrations.
  • £250 refer-a-friend bonus when a recommended candidate joins the organisation.
