Job description
The opportunity
This is a busy, site-based full-time role within the operational team, supporting staffing coordination at the Mount Lofty Care Home in Toowoomba. Reporting to the General Manager, the position plays a central part in keeping frontline staffing organized across day, afternoon, and night shifts so residents, families, and visiting health professionals receive consistent support.
The work environment is fast-moving, highly collaborative, and focused on professionalism, efficient processes, and strong operational stability.
What you'll do
- Manage daily master rosters, arrange cover for open shifts, and coordinate requests for additional staffing across direct employees, contractors, and labour hire staff.
- Work with the corporate workforce optimisation team to keep rostering system data current and reliable for forecasting and better workforce planning.
- Handle staff communication around fortnightly allocations, roster updates, extra shift opportunities, and back-up coverage so that daily shifts remain filled.
- Provide training and user support for the timekeeping system, including troubleshooting when issues arise.
- Protect confidential rostering data in line with company policy and expected standards of conduct.
- Partner with site leadership to maintain sufficient staffing across the 24/7 facility, including casual backup coverage and resolution of roster gaps.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen processes, engagement, staff experience, and systems.
What we're looking for
This role suits someone with strong rostering experience across permanent staff, contractors, and labour hire. You should be comfortable acting as the main contact for operational teams and able to keep communication clear and accurate across phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
Success in this role requires the ability to stay calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain excellent attention to detail. Experience with online shift-bidding or extra-shift tools is considered an advantage. A valid NDIS clearance is required, or you must be willing to obtain one to work in the facility.
Benefits
- Fitness Passport access for discounted health and wellbeing services.
- Career progression supported by a strong mentoring culture.
- Free access to in-house and online training programs.
- A supportive, positive team environment built on care and teamwork.
- Workplaces with a safety-first approach for residents, families, and staff.
- Team activities and shifts designed to be positive, engaging, and enjoyable.
- Access to employee assistance support and employee discount benefits.
- Free professional development through Work-Rite Micro.
- Veterans and defence personnel are encouraged to apply.
