About the Role
Shadow Play by Peppers is a distinctive property beside the Yarra River, just one kilometre from Melbourne’s CBD. The hotel features one- and two-bedroom apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows and modern interiors. Guests can enjoy food and drinks at Edwin Wine Bar and Cellar, which showcases local produce, or relax in the lounge and library with an adjoining patio and barbecue area. Its central location also places Melbourne’s shopping, dining, cafés, and attractions close by.
Role Purpose
As a Room Attendant, you are an important part of the Housekeeping team and help create a memorable guest experience through spotless rooms and careful attention to detail. The role also involves working closely with your teammates and assisting guests when needed, contributing to the high standard of hospitality expected at the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including replacing linens, sanitising bathrooms, and wiping all surfaces to create a strong first impression.
- Follow the property’s procedures and quality standards to maintain consistently excellent housekeeping results.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys stocked, tidy, and ready for use throughout the shift.
- Handle cleaning products responsibly and follow all safety practices to maintain a safe workplace.
- Protect guest privacy and security at all times while carrying out room servicing duties.
- Escalate maintenance concerns quickly to help ensure each guest has a smooth stay.
Experience and Skills
Prior work as a cleaner or room attendant is advantageous. You should communicate in a friendly, professional manner and work with a strong eye for detail, good time management, and pride in delivering quality work. The position is physically active and may require moving between rooms via internal and external staircases and open walkways. Comfort working with colleagues from different backgrounds is important, along with dependable transport and the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
