The hotel is positioned close to the Central Business District and places visitors in the middle of a lively dining and nightlife scene. It features 302 rooms with large floor-to-ceiling windows, views over heritage shophouses and the modern skyline, plus a rooftop pool and a mix of bars and restaurants.
Role overview
Working under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, or another manager appointed by the hotel, you will be responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of cleanliness in guest rooms and related areas so that they remain tidy, well kept, and up to hotel standards.
Key duties
- Clean and service guest bedrooms, bathrooms, and nearby areas in line with the hotel’s hygiene and presentation standards.
- Change bedding daily, smooth out linen, dust furniture, thoroughly clean bathrooms, restock guest amenities and stationery, and vacuum all areas carefully.
- Log all serviced rooms on the duty phone and report any rooms that could not be completed.
- Replace VIP gifts every day as required.
- Water and refresh guest room flowers and plants whenever applicable.
- Remove waste and used linen in the correct manner.
- Use and store all materials properly, keep equipment in working condition, and report any defects without delay.
- Build a polite and professional relationship with guests, respond to requests and questions, and handle complaints quickly with proper follow-up and escalation when needed.
- Observe key control procedures and remain accountable for any keys assigned to you.
- Submit found property to the Assistant Housekeeper immediately and follow hotel rules on lost and found handling.
- Support stock counts when needed.
- Help with deep cleaning and other special housekeeping projects as required.
- Handle hotel linen according to housekeeping standards.
- Manage guest belongings carefully and correctly at all times.
- Report any damage to bedding, curtains, blinds, or soft furnishings to the Assistant Housekeeper.
- Escalate shortages of linen, supplies, or equipment to the Assistant Housekeeper.
- Carry out additional projects, tasks, or reasonable instructions from the department head or hotel management.
Working style and service values
The role is expected to reflect the hotel’s service approach: be genuine and straightforward, bring an energetic and friendly attitude, take ownership and follow through, stay creative and open-minded, and remain highly attentive, precise, and guest-focused at all times.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings a warm, caring manner and preferably some prior housekeeping experience. You should be able to work well with others, need little supervision, and stay professional, welcoming, and attentive to guest needs.
