About the Property
The Olsen Melbourne – Art Series sits on iconic Chapel Street and blends boutique luxury with artistic character inspired by Australian landscape artist Dr John Olsen. The property offers apartment-style studio suites, one- and two-bedroom suites, an on-site Spoonbill Restaurant serving up to 80 guests from breakfast through late service, and Two Wrongs Bar with capacity for up to 100 guests. The location also places you close to Melbourne’s dining, arts, and leisure attractions, including a short tram ride to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Role Purpose
As a Room Attendant, you are an important part of the Housekeeping team and help create an outstanding guest experience by ensuring rooms are cleaned to a high standard with strong attention to detail. The role also calls for teamwork, helpful guest service, and a consistent commitment to delivering a memorable stay.
Key Duties
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including changing linen, sanitising bathrooms, and wiping down surfaces to create an excellent first impression.
- Follow the property’s housekeeping procedures and quality expectations at all times.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys tidy, stocked, and ready for use.
- Handle cleaning products responsibly and follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Protect guest privacy and security while carrying out room servicing.
- Escalate maintenance concerns quickly to support a smooth and comfortable guest experience.
Experience and Skills
Prior work as a cleaner or room attendant is beneficial. You should communicate in a friendly, welcoming manner, work efficiently, manage your time well, and take pride in doing detailed work. The role is physically active and may involve moving between rooms via internal and external stairways and open walkways. Collaboration with people from different backgrounds is essential, and you must be available for varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with reliable transport to get to work.
