Job description
Role overview
This position is part of a recruitment drive planned in India for the later part of 2026. Candidates will only be contacted if they are shortlisted, and interviews will be held in person. Walk-in participation is not available.
Job purpose
The role is responsible for overseeing rigging and lifting work and carrying out all related activities across company facilities onshore and offshore, both on site and off site. The focus is on maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, integrity, reliability, and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead rigging and lifting operations so resources are used efficiently, work is executed safely, and all QA/QC expectations are met.
- Make sure lifting work follows the company’s codes, standards, and technical specifications.
- Check that all lifting tools and equipment are properly certified, maintained, and stored in line with company requirements.
- Work with the garage team to ensure preventive maintenance plans and corrective repairs for company-owned equipment are carried out on time.
- Arrange external manpower and equipment when urgent support is required, while optimizing usage wherever possible, and supervise long-term contractors with performance tracking and reporting.
- Review and approve non-routine lifting plans for company activities as well as those submitted by external contractors.
- Ensure rigging and lifting work stays aligned with the biweekly schedule.
- Confirm that toolbox talks are conducted effectively and that job safety analysis documentation is available for every activity.
- Support incident or issue investigations, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on their proper implementation.
- Ensure EOT cranes and plant elevators are properly maintained and available for maintenance work.
Qualifications
A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering is required, along with approval from a third-party agency certification as a Rigging Supervisor.
Experience and knowledge
Applicants should have 8 years of experience in maintenance within the oil and gas sector or petrochemical industry. A strong working knowledge of lifting procedures and codes is also necessary.
Skills and tools
The role requires strong English communication, computer literacy, familiarity with MS Office and SAP, and the ability to conduct toolbox talks and hazard identification.
