Job description

Role overview

Dollarama Australia runs The Reject Shop store network, bringing together a practical retail approach with international retail standards. Port Augusta is a key location in that transition.

This opportunity is for a Retail Store Manager who leads by working alongside the team. You will be actively involved on the shop floor, handling stock, following through on processes and setting the tone through action rather than distance. In this role, leadership is demonstrated in day-to-day store execution.

The business values accountability, teamwork and doing things properly. If that reflects how you work, this could be a strong fit.

What the role involves

You will take overall responsibility for store performance and make sure retail standards are delivered consistently. In practice, this includes:

  • Leading directly from the shop floor instead of managing from an office
  • Handling stock tasks and core store processes together with your team
  • Maintaining strong standards in presentation, stock movement and customer service
  • Managing sales, labour and operating costs with a commercial mindset
  • Developing a capable team that understands expectations clearly
  • Keeping standards high and addressing performance issues promptly
  • Supporting the team through operational change as the business builds capability

This is a structured retail environment with clear expectations, strong execution and shared accountability.

What you need to bring

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in retail or another fast-moving environment, along with a practical, hands-on style.

You should be comfortable holding others accountable, organised in your approach and disciplined in how you run operations. A team-focused attitude and the ability to lead through change are also important.

You are expected to take ownership, follow through on commitments and do the job thoroughly.

What you will receive

  • A genuine progression opportunity as the network grows, for leaders who take ownership and deliver results
  • A regular two-week roster with stable working hours
  • Every second Saturday off and no Sunday shifts
  • Three straight days off each fortnight
  • Hourly pay above Award rates, including penalties and overtime
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Access to a bonus scheme with semi-annual and annual payouts
  • Team Member discount for you and your immediate family
  • Paid parental leave
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Access to earned wages through Humanforce Thrive
  • Stability in a growing national retail business

About the business

The Reject Shop is the foundation of the business, with Dollarama Australia shaping its future. The organisation is built around ownership, teamwork and operational discipline, while moving toward stronger retail capability and global standards.
