About the role
Verizon is looking for a full-time Retail Sales Associate to join its retail team in Hutchinson, Kansas. This position is centered on helping customers find the right technology and service solutions while contributing to store sales goals and customer growth. It is an onsite, worksite-based role with a 40-hour weekly schedule.

What you will do
- Drive in-store sales by using your interest in technology and strong customer service approach to promote Verizon products and services.
- Learn what customers need by building rapport and asking thoughtful, discovery-focused questions.
- Recommend products and service combinations that create a complete solution for the customer.
- Close sales by communicating clearly and helping customers choose simple, effective technology options.
- Continue building your capabilities through ongoing training, including store operations, merchandising, and inventory support.
- Reach out to existing Verizon customers through outbound calls and text messages to identify possible sales opportunities.
- Represent the company at community and off-site Verizon-sponsored events to help expand the customer base.
Compensation and incentives
This role includes base pay of $16.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on geography, hours worked, and performance. In addition, the commission plan can provide up to $18,000 per year in individual commissions if sales goals are achieved. High performers may earn an extra $14,500 or more in commissions, with total annual earnings potentially ranging from $65,000+ to $75,500+.
The position also includes a possible $2,500 sign-on bonus, subject to the award terms and conditions. This is a commission-based role with earning potential that increases with performance.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of relevant experience, which may come from work history and/or military service
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with schedules shared four weeks in advance
- Willingness to take on extra shifts, especially during summer, November through December, and peak vacation periods
- Preferred background includes work in commission-based settings
- Additional advantage if you have customer-facing sales experience and a track record of helping customers find solutions
- Customer service experience is also an advantage
