About the Role

We seek a skilled Retail Expansion Manager to spearhead the growth of our cake shop franchise throughout Mumbai and nearby regions. The role involves conducting detailed market research and location analyses, studying competitor presence, assessing rental viability, and liaising with landlords to facilitate the expansion of our retail locations efficiently.

Core Duties

  • Pinpoint promising sites for new outlet openings through rigorous market surveys and evaluation of customer traffic patterns.
  • Analyze competitor operations, neighboring businesses, and local customer demographics to determine strategic advantages.
  • Assess commercial properties focusing on aspects such as visibility, accessibility, parking availability, and rental affordability.
  • Compile comprehensive feasibility studies forecasting sales, investment requirements, and profitability margins.
  • Collaborate closely with property agents, landlords, and developers to secure optimal shop spaces.
  • Engage in rental negotiations alongside management to ensure favorable lease terms.
  • Conduct site visits to prospective locations and produce detailed recommendation reports.
  • Assist with store setup planning phases until the outlet becomes fully operational.
  • Formulate an annual retail expansion strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Maintain and update a thorough database of commercial properties across the Mumbai metropolitan area.
  • Track newly launched store performance and provide insights to guide future expansion efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 to 7 years of professional experience in retail expansion, business development, or acquiring real estate.
  • Prior involvement with quick-service restaurants, bakeries, cafés, beverage outlets, or retail chains is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of Mumbai's commercial real estate markets and consumer demographics.
  • Exceptional negotiation, data analysis, and communication abilities.
  • Availability for extensive travel within Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and nearby areas as required.
