Role overview

This position focuses on growing retail banking business by attracting payroll customers, strengthening client relationships, and expanding the retail portfolio. The role supports the onboarding of new-to-bank customers and creates opportunities to offer Shari’a-compliant solutions such as credit cards, auto finance, and personal finance products. Success in this role contributes to customer well-being, long-term relationships, and strong service outcomes through tailored Islamic banking support.

Purpose of the role

The sales banking function is responsible for winning and expanding retail banking relationships by promoting personal finance, auto finance, and credit card offerings. It requires a strong ability to understand employee financial needs, build productive partnerships, and deliver customized Shari’a-compliant banking solutions that meet sales goals for Emirates Islamic Bank.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and sustain effective relationships with assigned corporate partners and individual customers to promote Shari’a-compliant products, including personal finance, credit cards, and auto loans.
  • Identify new corporate accounts and customer opportunities that can lead to successful onboarding and financing solutions.
  • Drive cross-selling activity for non-assigned products and services to support revenue growth and strengthen market presence.
  • Follow approved policies, procedures, and Islamic banking principles throughout the loan and card application process to safeguard both customer and organizational interests.
  • Work toward sales targets for personal finance, credit cards, and auto loans while maintaining strong service quality and tracking customer satisfaction.
  • Keep up to date with market developments, competitor offerings, and changing customer expectations in the UAE retail banking environment.
  • Offer informed and professional guidance on personal finance, credit card, and auto loan products so that business opportunities are fully converted.

Candidate profile

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 2 years of banking sales experience in the UAE is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of market dynamics, industry practices, and policy implications is important.
  • The ability to identify and develop new markets and customers within the assigned area is essential.
  • A demonstrated history of meeting cross-selling goals for additional products and services is expected.
  • Experience creating customer awareness through mailers and direct visits is valuable.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, customer focus, perseverance, public relations, and a results-driven mindset are needed.
