About Article and the Role

Article has been specializing in modern furniture since 2013 through its direct-to-consumer online platform. Expanding beyond digital sales, the company is launching physical retail locations across the US and Canada to create a complete omni-channel shopping experience. This position is for the new retail store located in Toronto's fashion district, set to open in September 2026.

Location and Store Details

• Address: 90 Bathurst St., Toronto, Ontario
• Store Size: 9,600 square feet
• Store Hours: Open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM

Employment Types and Hours

• Full-time: 40 hours per week, 5 shifts weekly
• Part-time: Minimum 24 hours weekly

Role Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and make them feel comfortable in the showroom
• Assist customers in selecting furniture and facilitate online ordering
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about products, policies, and tools to build customer confidence
• Ensure the showroom remains clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout the day
• Use internal systems to handle orders, returns, and logistics efficiently
• Work collaboratively with team members to foster a positive and respectful workplace environment
• Engage in regular coaching sessions and feedback with the Store Manager
• Adapt schedule to support busy periods such as weekends and key retail events

Candidate Requirements

• Legal right to work in Canada without student visas; up to 40 hours per week permitted
• Completion of a criminal background check
• Reliable transportation to the store location
• Physical ability to frequently move around the showroom and lift up to 30 pounds
• Minimum 18 years old
• Previous retail experience especially in environments where customers make considered purchases
• Strong passion for customer service and problem-solving
• Ability to build genuine customer relationships for long-term loyalty
• Resilience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for a fast-paced team dynamic

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage of $22 to $24

Hiring Process
