Job description
Role Overview
This position leads the Italian restaurant operation in Doha and carries management responsibility for day-to-day service delivery. The role covers restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas where relevant, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction, team leadership, sanitation, and commercial performance.
Key Duties
The manager is expected to oversee daily operations, support menu planning, uphold cleanliness and service standards, and step in on the floor during busy meal periods to assist servers and hosts. A core part of the job is to improve the guest experience while also driving employee engagement and the financial results of the outlet.
Operational Leadership
- Direct and supervise restaurant staff and keep all daily operations running smoothly.
- Understand the duties of team members well enough to cover those responsibilities when needed.
- Review staffing needs so service quality, operational requirements, and financial targets remain balanced.
- Maintain service, hygiene, and sanitation standards across the restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas.
Team Development and Compliance
- Lead by example using clear communication, integrity, and sound business judgment.
- Build trust and cooperation across the team and set clear expectations for performance.
- Coach, mentor, and train employees to improve skills and meet departmental goals.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, food and beverage standards, sanitation rules, and all applicable laws.
- Make sure the team understands liquor regulations and that alcohol service follows local requirements.
Guest Experience
- Deliver service that goes beyond normal expectations to support guest satisfaction and repeat business.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collect guest feedback during meals or on departure to understand satisfaction with food, drinks, and service.
- Maintain a positive hospitality atmosphere from arrival through payment and departure.
Human Resources and Administration
- Set performance standards, monitor results, and provide guidance to subordinates.
- Identify training needs and develop formal learning or coaching sessions when required.
- Promote fair treatment, employee retention, and open communication through a transparent feedback culture.
- Share information with supervisors, peers, and team members through calls, written communication, email, or face-to-face discussion.
- Handle financial responsibilities for the department, including purchasing and invoice payments.
