Job description
Position Overview
The role involves delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests within the designated restaurant outlet. The position demands maintaining professional, courteous, and efficient service that aligns with the Kempinski brand standards to enhance guest experience and promote sales.
Key Duties
- Report directly to the Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager.
- Adhere strictly to the hotel dress code and grooming standards by arriving punctually in the prescribed uniform, including clean, pressed clothing, polished shoes, and a visible nametag.
- Consistently deliver professional, courteous, and efficient service throughout all shifts.
- Complete all duties required by the outlet as assigned.
- Be fully knowledgeable about all hotel services and offerings.
- Possess thorough comprehension of all food and beverage items within the assigned department.
- Utilize product knowledge to suggest upselling opportunities and offer alternatives effectively.
- Manage operating supplies and equipment responsibly, aiming to minimize wastage and spoilage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and surrounding areas at all times.
- Execute opening and closing procedures according to outlet protocols.
- Handle guest inquiries politely and efficiently; promptly relay complaints and feedback to supervisors and ensure follow-up actions are taken.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system proficiently based on departmental training and assigned responsibility level.
- Observe all hotel policies related to fire safety, hygiene, health, and security strictly.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues across the department and broader hotel team.
- Participate actively in all staff meetings, departmental trainings, and hotel-wide training programs.
- Carry out additional reasonable tasks and secondary responsibilities as delegated by the Department Head.
- Adapt to operational changes as directed by hotel management.
- Assist with scheduled inventories of products and equipment.
- Maintain a motivated and positive attitude while exercising self-control in all situations.
- Keep comprehensive, legible records such as guest history and the reservation book up to date.
- Coordinate the printing and updating of restaurant menus as required.
- Communicate effectively with related departments including Guest Services, Concierge, Restaurant Reservations, other Food & Beverage outlets, In Room Dining, and Banquet Services.
- Accept additional tasks as necessitated by business or hotel requirements.
