Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Response Surveyors to join Bristol City Council's team dedicated to providing high-quality, customer-centric services across 27,500 residential properties. This permanent, full-time role primarily involves inspecting customer homes and refurbishing vacant properties to return them to use.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys of occupied homes and empty properties scheduled for refurbishment.
- Manage repairs from start to finish, collaborating closely with residents and leaseholders.
- Handle any concerns or complaints arising before, during, or after repair works, ensuring continuous service improvements within tight schedules and budget constraints.
- Take on daily operational responsibility for repairs and maintenance within designated zones across the City of Bristol.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience and knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Training or familiarity with the upcoming Awwabs law phase 2, effective November 2026.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, varied, and challenging environment.
- Strong commitment, accountability, and proactive mindset, with a willingness to go the extra mile.
