About the company

Avara Foods is a major UK food producer supplying chicken and turkey to leading supermarkets and recognised restaurant brands. The business manages the full supply chain, from farms through processing and delivery, and operates across England and Wales with a network of more than 350 farms.

About the Telford site

The Telford manufacturing site is one of the company’s key processing facilities, handling up to 1.5 million birds each week. More than 1,200 people work there, supporting the production of high-quality fresh food. The site has also benefited from a £2.3 million investment in technology and equipment, placing it among the UK’s more advanced food manufacturing operations.

Role overview

An opportunity has opened for a motivated Resourcer to join the Resourcing Team on a fixed-term basis at the Telford site. The position is office-based and follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 08:30 to 17:00. The role is focused on supporting high-volume direct recruitment and improving the experience of candidates throughout the hiring process.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out first-stage screening, telephone interviews, and candidate feedback or offer discussions.
  • Maintain and circulate recruitment trackers and KPI information as needed.
  • Manage allocated vacancies and keep the relevant Resourcing Officer informed on progress.
  • Develop talent pools for repeat vacancies and support succession and talent planning.
  • Work within the ATS process, ensuring workflows are followed and system changes are understood.
  • Identify strong candidates for both immediate and future hiring needs.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards to ensure a consistent candidate journey.
  • Keep candidate engagement active and professional throughout recruitment activity.
  • Enter and transfer candidate details into the internal database.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks such as right-to-work checks, contract requests, and induction planning and delivery where required.
  • Use recruitment channels and tools to prioritise direct hiring, while working with agency partners from the PSL where this improves candidate quality.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to build strong working relationships and create a positive recruitment experience.
  • Follow GDPR requirements and company guidance at all times.

The ideal applicant will have experience in high-volume recruitment or an agency environment, along with confident communication and negotiation abilities. Strong organisation and time management skills are important, as is the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders. The role suits someone who is driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
