• Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.
• Workweeks are consistently 50 hours, Monday through Friday.
• Overtime is paid at $27.00 per hour, which is 1.5 times the base rate, for hours beyond 40 each week.
• Weekends are off.
• The position is year-round with no seasonal layoffs.

Key Duties

• Support the driver and crew by collecting household trash and recyclable materials from curbs and residential properties and placing them safely into the truck.
• Help guide the vehicle during reversing and tight turns so the route can be completed safely.
• Operate the truck’s compaction system to compress collected waste inside the vehicle.
• Complete pre-route safety checks, identify and report prohibited materials, and consistently follow all required safety procedures.
• Wear the personal protective equipment supplied by the company, including gloves, a reflective vest, safety glasses, and work boots.
• Maintain a courteous, professional approach when dealing with residents and members of the public along the route.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required, although one to three months of related experience is considered helpful.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred, though not essential.
• Must be able to meet the company’s standard safety-sensitive screening criteria.
• Ability to read, write, and follow basic directions with limited oversight.

Working Conditions

• This role is outdoors for the full shift and requires continuous physical activity throughout the route.
• You should be able to lift or move up to 65 pounds on a regular basis and push or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Work continues in varying weather, including heat, cold, and rain, depending on the season.
