Position Overview
Join our Biopharma team as a Research Scientist, contributing to cutting-edge innovation that supports leading pharmaceutical firms and biotech companies worldwide. You will be integral in scientific method development, validation projects, and various specialty technology studies, as well as troubleshooting instrumentation and protocols.
Work Conditions and Schedule
This role follows a standard Monday to Friday workweek and demands strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and independently perform analytical method development, optimization, validation, and specialty technology studies including method transfers for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds.
- Plan and conduct experiments using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UPLC, ICP-MS, LC/MS, and GC/MS, and biochemistry assays like SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, and protein quantification assays.
- Draft, critique, and review study protocols, project updates, and final reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for procedural and instrumental challenges.
- Support business development with technical insights for sales and marketing; participate in scientific conferences and poster presentations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality systems, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance capabilities.
- Interpret and analyze data relative to protocols, GMP/GLP compliance, and client requirements; conduct peer reviews prior to submission to QA and customers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent academic or vocational qualification.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with a combination of education, training, and hands-on expertise considered acceptable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate understanding of general chemistry and separation science principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory standards including SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP, and FDA regulations.
- Strong proficiency with technical operating systems related to analytical instrumentation.
- Capability to independently optimize methods and conduct root cause analysis of issues.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting competences.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Good time and project management capabilities.
- Mentality for mentorship and collaborative teamwork.
- Skilled in reviewing and comprehending project proposals and plans.
