About the Role

Dr. Julie Hallet's team at the Sunnybrook Research Institute is looking for a Research Assistant to support their established group of clinical epidemiologists, clinicians, and qualitative researchers. The focus is on investigating resource use, expenses, and both clinical and patient-reported outcomes in cancer patients across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and renew Research Ethics Board (REB) applications
  • Assist with drafting proposals and reports for funding agencies
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and document/distribute minutes
  • Support grant and database application preparations
  • Manage and update financial paperwork such as invoices and budgets
  • Track and monitor project timelines
  • Perform data entry and data abstraction as needed
  • Contribute to ongoing research projects and undertake additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, social sciences, or related disciplines (equivalent work experience also considered)
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Effective at managing time and prioritizing competing tasks under deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication capabilities
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently under time pressure
  • Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues
  • Capable of working independently while meeting specific goals on schedule
  • Keen to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills
