Role overview
Home Group is hiring a Repairs and Maintenance Scheduler to support the allocation and planning of repair work across trade operatives. The role is based in Maryport, Cumbria and follows a hybrid setup with a mix of home working and office attendance.
This is a permanent, full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. The salary is £28,100 per year, with pay depending on experience, and the package includes strong benefits such as 34 days of annual leave. Sponsorship under a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is not available for this vacancy.
What the role involves
- Plan and coordinate repair and maintenance activity so operatives know their daily workload.
- Keep systems updated with accurate, live information about maintenance work needed in customers’ homes.
- Identify when demand is greater than available resource and flag this so appropriate action can be taken.
- Arrange customer appointments and schedule emergency repair work.
What success looks like
You will help improve productivity, efficiency and customer service by ensuring jobs are allocated effectively and managed with strong attention to detail. The role suits someone who enjoys planning, organising and working in a team that values great service.
Experience and skills needed
The ideal candidate has worked in a busy repairs and maintenance environment and has used workforce planning systems. You should understand repair and maintenance activity across responsive, planned and cyclical programmes, and be confident handling changing priorities while keeping service standards high.
You will also need to be comfortable using technology for planning and scheduling, including Microsoft Office, and working closely with colleagues to keep work flowing smoothly.
Working pattern
Normal working hours are usually 37.5 per week, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The position is hybrid, with home working plus office-based work in Maryport for two days each week.
Benefits
- 34 days of leave each year, increasing to 39 days over time, including bank holidays and a personal “me day”.
- Health cash plan covering services such as dental care, opticians, prescriptions and more, with potential annual savings of £1,140+ for you and your children.
- Access to more than 800 discounts on shopping, travel, days out, technology and other purchases.
- Family-friendly support covering maternity, paternity, adoption, neonatal, fertility and menopause needs.
- Matching pension contributions of up to 7% and life insurance worth 3x basic salary.
