Role Overview

This position focuses on nurturing existing business relationships, bringing in new accounts, and delivering the sales outcomes expected from the assigned relationships.

Business Context

The role sits within BSLAMC, the fund management arm behind Birla Sun Life Mutual Funds. As of December 2015, the organisation was among the leading asset management houses in India, with an average AUM base of more than INR 1.4 lakh crores. It ranked first in fixed income AUM and fifth in equity AUM among 42 fund houses, and held an average market share of about 10.2%. The investor base grew by 20% year on year to roughly 2.42 million from 2.01 million.

The company’s distribution reach spans 150 locations, around 45,000 IFAs, 190 national distributors, and 85 banking partnerships.   • Building strong recall for BSLAMC schemes across a distributor base that has access to a very wide product universe.
  • Keeping distributor and market knowledge current in a fast-moving environment.
  • Resolving investor service issues quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate ongoing sales from assigned relationships and help achieve regional business goals.
  • Study market information to identify prospective clients, make direct sales pitches, and work with channel partners to lift sales.
  • Understand distributor profiles and align solutions to their needs so business continues to grow from them.
  • Ensure the target number of folios is achieved and the planned number of new SIPs is added.
  • Carry out distributor empanelment and activation activities.
  • Maintain regular contact with distributors through meetings and follow-ups.
  • Share product updates and other relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Plan and deliver trainings and engagement activities for partners.
  • Meet internal reporting and audit expectations with full compliance.
  • Submit weekly updates to Regional Heads and Channel Heads.
  • Keep the sales portal updated with the required details for reporting and analysis.
  • Support installation of promotional and advertising material to strengthen brand visibility.
