Rehabilitation Consultant (Contractor)

About the opportunity

Beneco is seeking a Rehabilitation Consultant to join its expanding team on a contractor basis. This position is suitable for professionals from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, or Psychology backgrounds. To work in this role, you must operate under your own proprietary limited ABN.

The role focuses on helping injured people recover and transition back to work through a person-centred approach that prioritises health and wellbeing. You will manage a caseload that includes workers compensation, Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB), Workcover TAS, and workplace health and safety assessment matters.

Candidates located in Burnie, Devonport, or Melbourne are encouraged to apply, including those open to a FIFO arrangement to support services across Tasmania.

What you will do

• Guide individuals through their rehabilitation journey and support their return-to-work process.
• Assist clients in recovering from injuries using a client-focused, wellbeing-led approach.
• Handle a portfolio of claims and cases, including Workcover TAS and MAIB matters.
• Carry out assessments such as initial needs reviews, worksite assessments, and vocational assessments.
• Work closely with employers, medical practitioners, and other allied health professionals.
• Spot and address barriers that may delay a client’s return to work.
• Prepare case notes and reporting, applying sound clinical judgement to guide client outcomes.
• Develop and preserve productive relationships with important stakeholders.
• Help maintain a high standard of service while contributing to regional growth.

About you

• At least 3 years of experience in occupational rehabilitation consulting.
• Working knowledge of Workcover TAS legislation.
• IMC registration with WorkSafe Tasmania is preferred, though not mandatory.
• A university qualification in Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology.
• AHPRA, ASORC, or ESSA accreditation, along with a genuine interest in helping others.
• A full driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
