- Assess customer communications and marketing content to confirm regulatory accuracy and proper disclosures.
- Support vendor and third-party risk processes, including agreement review and oversight activities.
- Assist with state licensing matters, including renewals, filings, and continuing compliance obligations.
- Contribute to internal audits, outside examinations, and regulatory investigations by preparing documents and coordinating responses.
- Work with banking and strategic partners on compliance-related issues.
- Track legal and regulatory changes and convert them into actionable internal guidance.
Ideal background

- About 3 or more years of legal experience from a law firm, regulator, financial institution, or fintech environment.
- Strong working knowledge of consumer finance laws such as TILA, EFTA, ECOA, UDAAP, and related state requirements.
- Experience supporting product or business stakeholders in a regulated setting.
- Working familiarity with Compliance Management Systems and compliance operations.
- Clear communication style with the ability to give commercially practical legal advice.
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to manage several priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Background in state lending or money transmission licensing, bank partnership models, or third-party risk management is an advantage.
Why this role stands out
- Direct exposure to senior legal leadership.
- Opportunity to help shape product strategy and compliance programs at a growing fintech company.
- Broad scope across consumer finance regulation, product counseling, licensing, and risk management.
- High visibility with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Operations, and external partners.
