Role overview

Elizabeth R Lifecare in Stratford, Taranaki is looking for a Registered Nurse to join its care team on a permanent part-time basis. This role is based in a warm, resident-focused environment where you will help deliver high-quality nursing care and contribute to better daily outcomes for older people.

Elizabeth R Lifecare is a 36-bed care home and hospital with a 9-unit village in Stratford. The team is made up of people from many different countries and backgrounds, and the workplace values empathy, inclusion, and a strong culture of care. The wider organisation is one of New Zealand’s major aged care providers, with a large network of care homes and villages across the country.

Working arrangement

This is a permanent part-time position for 30 hours per week. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends, and the role requires participation in an on-call roster, including nights.

What you will do

You will provide nursing care that supports residents’ health, comfort, and wellbeing. The position involves taking a leadership role where needed, building positive relationships with residents, families, and other key people, and helping ensure every resident receives a consistently high standard of care.

Experience and capability needed

The employer is seeking a nurse with prior Registered Nurse experience, either in New Zealand or overseas. Experience in aged care is preferred. You should hold a current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate, work well in a team, and bring compassion, energy, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are important, along with the ability to manage time well, prioritise tasks, and maintain good relationships. You should also be comfortable using computers and learning new systems quickly. An understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and how to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in the workplace is also required.
