Role overview
Oceania is hiring a casual Registered Nurse to work from The Bellevue in Christchurch. In this role, you’ll practice at full scope within a nurse-led environment, using your clinical judgement and experience to support residents with high-quality, holistic care. You’ll take charge of day-to-day care coordination, work closely with residents and their families, and contribute to a supportive team culture.
Key duties
- Oversee residents’ daily care requirements while encouraging and guiding fellow team members.
- Carry out nursing assessments and interventions, both on your own and in collaboration with others.
- Use your professional judgement to make important decisions about resident care.
- Develop strong working relationships with residents, their families, and community allied health professionals.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to care staff and other colleagues.
What you’ll need
- A valid New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Prior experience working with clinical systems.
- InterRai experience is an advantage, though not essential.
- Well-developed written and spoken communication skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor other staff members.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts on a rostered basis.
Pay and schedule
The role offers an hourly rate between $37.38 and $53.22, depending on experience. The roster is fortnightly and includes weekend work and night shifts.
